So the factory jaguar transmission used a combo reverse light and neutral safety switch mounted on the transmission but the chevy trans uses the more typical shifter mounted switches. So armed with one 4 terminal deustch connector and 10 feet of wire that was almost an exact match to the factory colors I whipped up this little harness extender that’ll allow me to take the factory harness inside the car and connect to the shifter.

My reverse lights don’t work and though I haven’t spent a ton of time in it, I can’t seem to find where the harness comes into the interior. I’ve had the top of the center console off a couple times and didn’t really find it. It could well be a problem with the switch (though the neutral/Park start inhibit worry) T hat switch is hard to get to so I’d rather try to mount a micro switch somewhere on the shifter.

I’m not entirely sure where it comes out either, I believe it’s somewhere behind the dash. If so it’ll be absolute bear to get to.

This says to drill a new hole in the trans tunnel
and route the harness through there but I’m re-routing mine up through the firewall where the hood release cable is.

Thanks for the link. I’m sure I’ll be under there again soon as I’m chasing down a strange leak - there’s what appears to be gasoline dripping under the passenger footwell, but it only does it when I want to go somewhere. Twice I’ve jacked it up to have a look and … nothing.

I’d check the lines going to the charcoal canister in the fenderwell

I’m thinking it might be something with that. The purge solenoid looks a little wet. Dripping seemed to be coming down the ledge in the engine bay.

Did some more checking and cleaned the are around the purge solenoid and in general under the intake as it was caked with greasy grit under there. Drove it a little tonight and no sign of it so . No woosh opening the gas tanks either.
